Built in the early 19th century, Långholmen Hotel is housed in the old Crown Prison. In May 1989 the hotel opened following 2 years refurbishment and includes Stockholm’s most captivating museum.

The modern 102 guest rooms are rich in character and the cells are now pleasingly and functionally furnished, impressive and have retained many authentic features.

Langholmen Hotel has been designed to provide guests with an unusual and historically interesting experience. An attractive gallery dating from 1866 is situated in the middle of the complex. This area provides the hotel with a beautiful, open atrium. The old prison entrance hall has been converted into a reception and includes a 24 hour cafeteria.

Långholmen Restaurant is characterized by the best of contemporary Swedish cuisine and the Inn is housed in the Alstavik residence, which dates back to the 1670s.

Stockholm’s most captivating prison museum is open daily guided tours are given at weekends.
